A high up tree branch was a normal and good place to find a leopard cub and it’s mother hanging out. It was natural, almost so natural that no one ever noticed it anymore. It became part of the scenery. It was something to be expected, and thus, not extraordinary in the slightest. So why would this particular leopard cub and it’s mother attract attention sitting up high in the tree? Because the cub’s mother was human. Crissatha Isobel Pandora had adopted the cub a good year ago or so, making Chii not really a baby any longer. All the same, that didn’t stop Cris from calling her one all the time. And no, she had not actually had the cub, that would not be fucking possible. But she had cared for it after it was too small and young to care for itself and Cris’s intrusion had accidently killed her mother…and almost herself. So, feeling responsible, she had taken the cub in. Her best friend had teased her that Chii would maul her some day, but the cub was young enough that she hadn’t known the difference and had taken to Cris as she would her own mother. Now it was almost impossible for the young woman to get away from the cub long enough to go for a quick walk. Not that she minded. Her little shadow, for Chii was entirely black, was a welcome company for the usually temperamental young woman. She was most comfortable when it was just her and Chii. Besides, it kept people away from her and her house because they were all idiots and terrified that Chii would maul them if they got too close. Which she would never do. Chii was the biggest sweetheart that Cris had ever come across. Her temperament was ten times sweeter than her human Mama’s. Cris’s love of the little leopard was what caused her to shake her head and sigh, and get out of the house today even though she had had originally had every intention of laying about in bed instead for no reason other than laziness. Chii had had different ideas. She had been pacing about the house and driving Cris absolutely mad. So the young woman had eventually pushed herself up, to the purrs of her cub, and left the village to wander about for a bit. And apparently climb a tree. Chii had had no problem climbing up to the high branch that they now sat on. Cris had had a bit more of an issue. But a knife and bare feet had managed to eventually help her help herself all the way up to the branch she was now perched on. She sat next to the tree trunk just because her balance was not as excellent as the big cat’s and watched her cub watch below for prey to pounce on. She may be a sweetheart, but she was still a predator after all. Cris herself eventually just leaned against the tree trunk, closed her eyes and swung her feet lazily. It was a good day, not too hot and not too cold. One of those days where she would really rather be laying in bed instead. She smirked over at her cat then, who turned towards her with the movement, turning those baby blues on her mama with eyes of the same color. ”Spoiled brat” she told Chii affectionately and reached out to ruffle the fur between her two expressive ears. Chii herself just purred as if to say I know and made Cris laugh a bit, shaking her head. The sound of Cris’s laugh was a rare thing indeed, she was usually entirely icy and shut off from the rest of the world. After all, they had cast her out so why did they deserve her laughter? Or her emotions? They didn’t, exactly. With a self satisfied nod, she looked up at the sky, a little bored. She wished for a moment to have something to do. If she had to be out of bed, after all, she should be able to do something mildly interesting at least. Though nothing of interest approached her. She felt a little restless and started to tap her fingers on her thighs in a little beat. She could never sit still. Ever. And then the beat she tapped out had her nodding her head. And before she knew it, she was singing out loud. There was no words to it, not at first. It was just notes, randomly. She was off in the forest, she didn’t care who heard her. There wasn’t anyone around to hear her as far as she knew. So she could sing all she wanted. She shook her head and started to slowly slide into more of a melody until there were actually words being sung before she really knew she was doing it. ”Life's a bitch, then you die Don't wanna live my life Talking shit and tellin lies I'm never gonna All the things when we first met Yeah I was perfect then It's funny how quickly we forget, yeah She was always far too amused to sing ever since she learned that she actually had a voice. Her mother had never allowed her to sing…ever. It wasn’t deemed proper by the woman to sing for no reason, so Cris had never spread her wings until she had left the house. Now she always sang. She looked over at Chii who was purring along and grinned, and kept on singing. Hey, no one could hear her…so what was the harm? Words: 962 Muse: Okay Coomments: Sorry it sucks -_-

Hasn’t anybody told you to sit back and breathe? You can’t be living life like a loaded gun, Sing out, sing out, Things can only get better!
.xXx. Justin could honestly say he didn’t know what to do with himself. Sure, he should go build a shelter, hunt, and make a fire. He probably should do a lot of things. The only problem? He didn’t exactly want to, at the moment. No, he didn’t want to bother himself with the gruesome tasks of surviving out here, because to be entirely truthful, the man still hadn’t wrapped his head around the fact that he was stuck here, on this god forbidden island, with nothing but the clothes on his back and the wit he’d picked up from who-knows where. He was intelligent enough to know wandering the thick, dense tropical forest aimlessly wasn’t the right choice, but stupid enough not to care, and continue anyways. One might say he was conflicted, another simply mad. Justin himself? He didn’t give his actions much thought. He highly doubted he would die from not having a shelter for one, single night. What was the worst that could happen? Justin paused, mid-step, at the thought. He so wasn’t going to continue that mental though process. In every movie he’d ever watched, whenever someone asked that, the situation got worse. Justin had a feeling it would be no exception, for him. He’d been walking through the bush for a good hour or two now, and despite being somewhat tired, was pretty content with himself. Sure, he was hungry. Sure, he could use some dry, clean clothing. But there wasn’t anything he could do about it. Might as well make the best out of it, right? The man shrugged off the thought as he continued, a familiar rustling behind him causing the man to roll his light, blue eyes in obvious frustration. He thought he’d lost the thing. Damn little monkey. Justin had woken up with it nibbling his head a while back, and though he’d tried, the little thing didn’t want to seem to leave him alone. Just when Justin thought the little pest had wandered off, he’d pop up nearby again, as if just to taunt Justin. The man tried to ignore the rustling, and instead picked up his pace, but just as he did so, the little critter behind him quickened as well. Brow furrowing and forehead creasing in obvious frustration, Justin broke into a sprint, using his arms to lash through the bush. It was a rather sad attempt to rid himself of his little monkey friend, but after a good few minutes of sprinting, Justin kneeled over to place his hands on his knees, chest heaving. He paused after a moment however, holding his breath to listen. Nothing. Had he finally rid himself of the little tyrant? Just as Justin went to stand back up he heard a sharp, animal little chirp from the tree above him, and as he turned his head to look up, expecting to see some sort of bird, he groaned when he caught sight of the little lemur perched upon the branch above him. It’s tail curled gingerly around the branch as it tilted his head, observing the man with big, idiotic-looking eyes. Justin scowled, before crossing his arms, and looking up at the little animal. “I don’t know why you’re following me.” He muttered towards the animal, after taking a wary glance around him to make sure no one was nearby. Only then did he continue the scolding, as if he was a parent correcting a child’s misbehaviour. “I don’t even have food for myself right now, bud. You’re lucky I’m not trying to eat you—“ It was then the man paused, both brows shooting up almost immediately. A soft, nearby sound caught his attention from nearby; a voice. It was definitely a woman, and Justin found himself straining to hear the voice, his curiosity successfully distracting him from the odd situation at hand. His head turned towards the sound of the voice, eyes narrowing in order to flicker from place to place, and coming up with nothing but the thick foliage surrounding him. How was he supposed to find the woman singing, in these kind of fucking conditions? Justin turned towards the sound and began walking closer, ignoring the little red lemur entirely as he did so. It followed along in the treetops, though after Justin got a good amount closer, the voice practically clear, the small animal stopped abruptly, shying away from the direction of the voice. He didn’t seem to be the type of animal to be scared of humans. Justin’s brow furrowed momentarily before he continued to creep closer to the voice, being as soundless as possible, not wanting to interrupt. It was only a moment later that he noticed the reason for his little friend’s fear. A fucking black leopard. Justin caught sight of the animal before he caught sight of the girl sitting beside it, and spooked, tripping over himself and landing on his rump. He continued to crawl backwards, doing a more frantic, scared version of the crab walk, before his eyes flitted towards the girl, and his lips parted in concern. She knew she was sitting beside a wild cat, right? Like, a really, really big, wild cat? That could eat her? Ohgod. Justin’s face contorted into one of worry, before he spoke, forcing himself to do so. “You know there’s a... that, beside you, right?”
He said, pointing at the cat for his loss of words, before letting out a small nervous laugh, though there was really no humour behind it at all. Ah, fuck. It better not eat her. Justin would feel really, really bad if it did. We’re bound to make a change, Take some time to hold somebody! Leat go of fear and all your heartache, Learn to laugh, and learn to cry!

There was something relaxing about knowing that you were on your own. Well, your own with a giant black leopard, who was still a cub in Cris’s eyes and probably always would be. Not that Chii seemed to mind being babied when it came to her “Mama.” Anyway. The big cat relaxed on the branch next to her, simply looking down among the foliage as if watching for a prey to pounce on without any given warning. And it was possible that she was doing just that, but Cris wasn’t paying enough attention to the actions of her cub right now.
Instead she was singing. For no reason other than the fact that the tapping on her thigh had caused a beat that she hadn’t been able to resist singing along to. That was just the way that she was honestly. She couldn’t help singing if the mood struck her. Besides, who was around to hear her? It was just her and Chii as far as she knew, and the big cat had been sung to sleep too many nights to even really notice that Mama was singing at all in the first place. She was focused on the ground below.
Cris started to add words to her song without even realizing that she had done it. The words flowed from her mind to her lips and it took her a moment to even realize that she was singing about herself and what a bitch she could be sometimes. Oh well, who could blame her? She was perfectly fine being the crazy nut that most people seemed to think she was back home. She didn’t blame them. She lived off on the edge with her best friend who was no her husband and kept a predator in the house with her.
Yeah, that just seemed a little bit crazy.
Chii, next to her, tensed when she saw something coming up below them. And that caused Cris to actually look and see…a person? What the hell. She didn’t recognize him at all and that was practically not possible. She stopped her singing to look down at him critically. Her facial expression never changed, because it never did when it came to Cris. She knew how to keep her outer appearance icy even when on the inside her mind could be racing in a million and one different directions all at once.
She couldn’t figure out where he came from. It was weird but hey, it wasn’t like she knew each and every person who resided on this island so who knew. Though, a moment later she realized he looked different. She rolled her eyes. One of the castaways then. How amusing. Possibly. She hadn’t decided yet. But it was a possible cure to her earlier boredom so that could be entertaining, and at least it was something to do.
And then he fell on his ass.
She snorted because she hadn’t been expecting it, able to at the last second pull back a full laugh. No one but CHii ever got her full laughter if she could help it. They had to be seriously amusing to pull that off. She watched as he scrambled back further, kind of amused by this display but a critical brow also rose, wondering what the hell was wrong with him to make him do that. He looked like a retarded crab or something like that.
It wasn’t until he spoke that she realized what had him all tied up in knots. She rolled her eyes yet again at him. Did he really not know what type of animal Chii was? Yes a leopard with her coloring was rare, but even someone not from this place shouldn’t be that much of an idiot, right? Right. There was also the fact that he called her Chii a “that” which made the other eyebrow raise. She watched him a moment before she spoke, calling down to him. ”Chii’s a black leopard and a she not a that” she said with ice in her voice. She got very protective of her cub. She didn’t know why everyone was always so…stereotypical in their reactions about her.
It pissed her off.
Chii was sweeter than Cris was, to be entirely truthful, and had never even bit a human—Cris had seen ot that, not wanting Chii to get a taste of human blood—so it was ridiculous to be afraid of her. But obviously this man didn’t know that. So why not have a little fun?
A slight mischievous glint lighted in her eyes as she thought of something that could be amusing.
She turned her attention on the big cat to see Chii watching the boy just as intently as she had been doing when he had first tripped on his ass. She wondered if he knew that was possibly one of the worst things he could do, make himself seem weak. She decided she didn’t care if he knew or not with a shake of her head. It was his own issue. ”Chii” she said softly and the big cat looked up at her, big blue eyes shining with intellengce.
She then jerked her head towards the boy, knowing CHii would get what she wanted her to do. She had done it to fellow islanders before when they had pissed her off. Chii would never hurt a human…but most humans didn’t know that.
Chii purred, a rumbling low sound, as she stood on the branch and walked over Cris to climb back down the tree. Once there it was an easy quick few steps to end up just in front of the boy, where she did nothing bit sniff him, more curious than murderous. All the same, she wondered what he would do about that.

Hasn’t anybody told you to sit back and breathe? You can’t be living life like a loaded gun, Sing out, sing out, Things can only get better!
.xXx. Justin never got a break, when it came to these kind of things. Be it stubbing his toe, falling off of something, or having a fucking monkey decide to follow him around for the rest of his goddamn life, he always found himself in the worst situation possible. Perhaps it was just his luck that sucks so brutally—or maybe, just maybe, he was cursed. It wasn’t very realistic, sure—but that didn’t mean that his little monkeyfriend wasn’t some type of old witch doctor woman in secret, did it? Maybe if he kissed the critter, it’d turn into a princess? Justin shook the thoughts from his mind as he sat on the ground, staring up at a tree where both a giant fucking leopard and a girl sat. Like honestly, what were the odds of coming across that? It was fear that hit the man first, quite fervently, causing his breath to come in quick little huffs, his eyes wide, focused on the thread. Or, what he figured was a threat. He’d learn later he was just being an idiot. It was just after Justin had managed to cough out a few stuttered, nonsense words in attempt to warn the girl, that she rose a critical brow, causing Justin’s own brows to furrow, forehead creasing in confusion. She was like two-point-three seconds away from dying, and looking at him like that? He was just trying to help. “Chii’s a black leopard and a she not a that.” She informed him, her tone rather cold; edgy. Oh. So it was a pet. Well, wasn’t he a fucking genius. Justin’s brows rose in unison, his lips parting, as he paused, taking a moment to let her words sink in. Right, so this woman owned this beastly thing. That was normal. Justin tilted his head slightly, observing the two, and the very harmless air about the large cat. This woman couldn’t have been from the ship then, could she have? Justin’s lips pursed slightly, as the realization hit him. Was there other people on this island? I mean sure, he’d heard a few rumours. But did she seriously like... live here? Justin wasn’t sure, but he dropped the question, realizing he should probably answer. “Ah, right. I knew that.” He offered her a small, sheepish smile with the joking words, before continuing. “Just like I meant to fall over a few seconds back. Purely a stab at making a good entrance.” He added with a small nod, before something that looked startlingly like mischief lit within the woman’s blue eyes. And it was as he observed these eyes, when he took a moment to let his own gaze run over her, as discreetly as possible. She definitely had looks on her side. Justin shook the thoughts once more, forcing himself to focus on the expression he really wasn’t too fond of. He watched, unsettled, as the woman called out the leopard’s name, and then proceeded to jerk her head towards Justin. Woah, woah. No. What did that mean? Hell fucking no. Justin’s expression dropped as the cat leapt gingerly from the tree and came towards him, instinctively continuing his awkward scootching backwards. “No, no—I promise I won’t call her a that again! Please, I have—well, no. I don’t have a family. But still, I’m a good person! I deserve to live! ...I’m too young to die!” Justin just rambled on and on, shuffling backwards until his back pressed against a nearby tree. The animal came closer and began sniffing him in an action that Justin decided was probably it trying to decide if he was leam-worthy. Ohgod. The man covered his eyes with both hands in a very childish fashion, tilting his head up in attempt to ignore the presence of the big cat. Where was the annoying little bastard of a monkey now, anyways? Right when Justin needed him, he disappeared. Fucker. It wasn’t less than a good two minutes of hyperventilating and sitting with his hands over his eyes, that Justin paused, spreading his fingers to look towards the animal that was, still, sniffing him rather contently. Well, damn. Justin hesitated, before dropping his hands, his expression shifting to confused, yet again. Wasn’t it going to eat him? The man considered flailing for a moment, in order to find out, but decided it would be best no to provoke the animal. Instead, he looked towards the girl that sat in the tree, one brow quirking, in question. “She’s not going to hurt me, is she?” He inquired in a rather flat, grumpy sort of tone. Right. Of course she wasn’t. What else would go wrong? We’re bound to make a change, Take some time to hold somebody! Leat go of fear and all your heartache, Learn to laugh, and learn to cry! Crissatha Isobel Pandora decided to entirely ignore his really awkward comment about knowing that that was the truth and he had just fallen over to make an entrance. She really hoped that he didn’t expect her to buy that. Mostly because she had absolutely no intentions of doing anything of the sort. HE was an odd sort of failing child that she couldn’t seem to make heads or tails of. But she had a feeling that was just him, not all of the people who had been ship wrecked here on the island that was her home. There was just something about him that suggested that.
She shook her head, once again ignoring the odd things he had to say and turned to Chii, saying her name and jerking her head towards the young man who didn’t have a name yet in her head because he had yet to introduce himself to her and she had no intentions of being the first person to make introductions. She would far rather amuse herself by sending Chii after him just to see what he would do about it. She was far sweeter than her Mama was, but most people didn’t realize that.
They often thought that because she was a leopard that automatically made her a blood thirsty beast. But Cris had been careful in raising her, making sure she was okay to actually stay in the village. She knew that they would have chased CHii out if she showed any type of indication of being a man eater, so she had been careful about what behavior she had disciplined out of the large cat. Though she was still a predator, there was no doubt about it. She still had the lethal claws and teeth.
She just only ever used them on other animals.
But he didn’t know that from the way he started to yell out many things, including the fact that he was too young to die. She rolled her eyes from up in the branches where she was still sitting as CHii made her way out of the tree towards the young man. She knew he couldn’t see her do that, he seemed to be far more focused on the big cat that was heading towards him right now to see the small movement s that the young woman in the tree was making.
She watched as Chii got closer, sniffing him as if curious, which she probably was because she didn’t get to meet very many new people. She couldn’t help but smirk about the totally innocent behavior that her baby was displaying towards this boy even as he freaked out and started stammering on and on about how he wanted to live and stuff like that. She just shook her head and didn’t speak because she didn’t want to help or hurt. She just wanted to see if he could figure it out on his own. If he didn’t need her help she would give him bonus points. Besides, she found it amusing to watch him from up here, acting like a child as he was by covering his face with his hands.
He figured it out when she didn’t try to eat his face though.
Instead, he finally spoke to her up in the tree, in a very unhappy and grumpy tone she might add, saying that Chii wasn’t going to eat him, was she. Chii, on her part as if she could feel her Mama’s amusement, purred and licked his cheek with her rough cat’s tongue. Which just made Cris laugh from up in her tree. It was a rare sound, coming from her, but she was entirely amused by his tone about all of this.
”No, no she’s not. She’s the sweetheart in this duo” she called down to the boy after her bit of laughter had subsided enough for her to speak. It amused her to freak out people like that. What could she say, she could get a bit malicious sometimes. It happened. It was the result of how she was raised, it meant she had no faith in humanity and thus she saw absolutely nothing wrong with torturing it from time to time when the mood struck her to do so. Like right now, apparently. But she also knew when to knock it off.
Besides, she was curious to see this person who had not come from the island up close. Which she obviously could not do from up in her tree. Also, he had made her laugh. Mostly through his odd actions, but he had made her laugh. That made her curious to see this stranger up close.
SO, using her gymnastics skills that she had picked up on her own from training since she was young in the trees in order to get away, she flipped herself back until she was hanging by her knees, and then caught the branch below her. Which made her let go of the first with her knees to swing to the next lowest which she landed on standing, and then she was low enough to jump down on her own without breaking her legs.
Okay, so she might have been showing off a little bit with that one. She couldn’t help it.
But then she was on the ground and she walked over towards where he was, still being sniffed by her baby. She looked at him, slightly curious. And then smirked, arching a brow. ”By the way, doing that will not save you if a real maneater decides you’re dinner.” she said, making refrence to his earlier backwards shuffling.
